🐟 Our Story — From the Sea to Your Home
My name is Jobin Ouseph, the proud son of a fisherman, born and brought up in a small coastal village in Trivandrum, Kerala. Growing up by the sea, I watched my father set out every morning in his small boat, braving the waves to bring home the freshest catch. His hard work, honesty, and love for the ocean shaped who I am today.
During my MBA college days, I worked part-time with Uber Eats to support myself after classes. It wasn’t easy, but it taught me the value of hard work and connecting with people. When the pandemic struck in 2020, everything came to a halt. Jobs were scarce, and like many others, I struggled to find a way forward. I took up small catering jobs to keep things going for my family.
One evening, as the lockdown began to ease, I had an idea — why not start an online fish delivery service, bringing fresh fish directly to homes in Trivandrum? The night before launching, I went live on Facebook to announce my new venture. The response was overwhelming — people appreciated the idea and wanted to support a local fisherman’s son trying something new.
On the very first day, I sold out everything I had! Every morning, I would ride my two-wheeler to Vizhinjam Harbour and other landing centres, handpicking the freshest catch before delivering it to customers myself. Bad weather and limited resources made the journey tough, but I never gave up. Each customer I met became more than a buyer — they became part of my extended family.
Later, I travelled to the United Kingdom to pursue my master’s degree and continue my career in retail. Though life took me far from home, my heart has always remained with my customers and the sea. Even today, I still receive messages asking, “When are you restarting your fish business?” — and that means the world to me.
Now, with the experience and knowledge I’ve gained in the UK, I feel it’s time to return to my roots — to rebuild and grow what I started. This is more than just a business; it’s a part of who I am. I represent every fisherman’s dream — to see their hard work reach homes with freshness and honesty.
One of my old customers once told me,
